  • Red gel food coloring
  • Green gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add this mixture into the butter-sugar blend until well incorporated.
  3. Divide dough into two equal parts. Color one half with red food coloring and the other with green until vibrant.
  4. Roll out each colored dough between parchment paper to about 1/4-inch thick. Layer them, then roll tightly into a log shape. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice logs into 1/4-inch rounds and place on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  6. Dust cooled cookies with powdered sugar before serving.
