  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or eggnog)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with water and salt until bubbling. Stir in flour until it forms a ball. Let cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
  3. Pipe small mounds of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  5. For the filling, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form; gently fold in sugar, nutmeg, and vanilla.
  6. Once cooled, create slits in each puff and fill with the eggnog cream using a piping bag or spoon.
