  • 1 lb fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 3 tbsp Gochujang paste
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp black sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice evenly.
  2. In a bowl, combine Gochujang paste, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, and sesame oil; mix until smooth.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden brown (about 10 minutes).
  4. Pour the sauce over the sautéed mushrooms and stir to coat evenly. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and black sesame seeds before serving.
