  • 1 lb ground sausage (spicy or mild)
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium heat. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic until golden and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine ground sausage with the sautéed onion and garlic until well blended.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into rectangles (approx. 4×6 inches). Place two tablespoons of filling on one side of each rectangle, fold over, and crimp edges with a fork to seal.
  5. Mix the beaten egg with water and brush generously over each roll.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed up and golden brown. Serve warm.
