Ingredients

  • 4 large Portobello mushrooms (cleaned)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 4 burger buns (soft)
  • 4 slices of cheese (provolone or mozzarella; optional)
  • 1 cup fresh greens (lettuce or arugula)
  • Condiments (ketchup, mustard, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Brush both sides of each Portobello mushroom with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the mushrooms gill side down on the grill for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
  4. If using cheese, flip the mushrooms after 3-4 minutes and top with cheese. Cover for 2 more minutes until melted.
  5. Toast the burger buns on the grill until golden brown.
  6. Assemble sliders by placing fresh greens on the bottom bun, topping with grilled mushrooms and condiments before adding the top bun.
