- 1 cup glutinous rice
- 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
- ½ cup sugar (granulated or palm sugar)
- 2 ripe mangoes
- Pinch of salt
- Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until clear. Soak for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the rice and steam in a cheesecloth-lined steamer over boiling water for 20-25 minutes until tender.
- While steaming, mix coconut milk with sugar and salt in a saucepan on low heat until sugar dissolves; do not boil.
- Once the rice is steamed, transfer it to a bowl and mix in half of the coconut sauce while warm.
- Peel and slice mangoes into thin strips.
- To serve, place sticky rice on a plate, top with mango slices, drizzle with remaining coconut sauce, and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
