Description

Whipped Coffee, also known as Dalgona Coffee, is a creamy, frothy, and slightly sweet coffee drink that’s as easy to make as it is impressive. Made with just 3 ingredients, this trendy coffee delivers a café-style treat at home—no fancy equipment required. Serve it over iced or warm milk for a rich and satisfying caffeine boost.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules (medium roast works best)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water (not boiling, around 190°F)
  • 1 cup cold or warm milk (dairy or non-dairy like almond, oat, or soy)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving cold)

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, add instant coffee, sugar, and hot water.
  2. Whip until fluffy: Using a hand whisk, electric mixer, or milk frother, whip the mixture vigorously for 3 to 5 minutes until it becomes thick, fluffy, and light caramel in color. It should hold soft peaks.
  3. Prepare the milk: Fill a glass with ice cubes if serving cold, or use warm milk if preferred. Pour the milk into the glass, leaving some space on top for the whipped coffee.
  4. Top and serve: Gently spoon the whipped coffee over the milk. Use a spoon or straw to swirl together before sipping if desired.
  5. Enjoy immediately: The whipped coffee will stay frothy for several minutes. Stir well to enjoy the balanced flavor.

Notes

  • For a less sweet version, reduce the sugar to 1 tablespoon.
  • You can swap the sugar with coconut sugar or monk fruit sweetener for a lower glycemic option.
  • Best served fresh. If needed, the whipped coffee can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 day, but it may lose some of its fluffiness.
  • Adjust the milk quantity depending on how strong or creamy you like your coffee.
